Diego Maradona was in Kolkata, India to unveil a 12-foot statue of himself as a 1986 World Cup winner holding up the trophy. The Argentina football great looks amused when the curtain draws back, probably because he didn’t recall having such puffy hair or that many wrinkles as a 25-year-old.
The statue has little resemblance to Maradona, but this is simply a continuation of trend where bronze statues looking nothing like the person it is honouring.
